My Before & Afters of 2022

2022 was a big year for projects! And with a lot of outdoor projects over this past year…I am ready to bring it back indoors next year for renovations.

DIY PLAYHOUSE BUILD

My first big project of 2022 was the Playhouse build. I turned a corner of our yard into a play area with some landscape edging and pea gravel. Instead of buying one of those ready to assemble kits, I decided to build one custom for the girls. The total of this project was about $1,700 and it turned out much cooler than any kit you can find online, in my opinion! Complete with a tube slide and a fun little mushroom table that I built for them as well. The girls spend so much time in here, and absolutely love it!

HALLWAY MAKEOVER

I then tackled this hallway makeover. I really wanted to add some drama in this hallway, so I went with a full and BOLD wallpaper look. Replaced flooring, built a table, added lots of trim for character, and lots of little details to bring this all together. I am so in love with this wallpaper, and this hallway in general! I find myself gazing at it through my bedroom in admiration every day.

DIY DECK MAKEOVER

After spending many months in the heat working on the deck, I was able to finally wrap it up this year. After David made an extension to the deck, I waterproofed our new deck platform before creating a beautiful patio space underneath. This year we hired someone to build the new stair frame and then I got to work on installing the new deck boards and railing. Once this was all complete I filled in with new landscaping, and build a pergola on top of the deck for some added shade. Hanging out on this double level outdoor space has been so great and I can’t wait for another full spring and summer of enjoying.

DIY TUFF SHED WORKSHOP

This year I got the amazing opportunity to work with Tuff Shed to create a DIY workshop. Tuff Shed sponsored this shed for me and I am so grateful! They built the shed on site, and after they left I began customizing it! From bare exposed studs, I built out the inside of the shed and even finished the space so that it was heated and cooled and had electrical. So much blood, sweat, and tears went into this project but I am so proud of it and it’s one of my favorite spaces. Can’t wait for lots of creating to come in this workshop!

As always, I am so grateful for all of you for being here and following me along on this journey. I’m so happy that I get to share what I love with you and for all of your encouragement along the way. I can’t wait for what’s to come!
