I MOVED!

SURPRISEEEE!!!

It’s no secret that moving has been on the radar for some time now. I mentioned in stories a little over a year ago that our home was just not our “forever home” and that in the near future we would be looking for a place with more privacy/land. But at that time even I did not know that it would happen so quickly!

I’ve also shared with you guys that I have been going through a divorce. This obviously expedited the need to be on the lookout for a new place. I began looking around for homes on the market in the late summer.

This was the very first home I viewed with my realtor. I feel absolutely IN LOVE with it that very first time, but went home and talked myself right out of it. Between the unknown of my future, a messy and complicated divorce, and some heavy imposter syndrome, I decided to not put an offer in. I felt like it was all so scary so this must not be the right decision. I waited and prayed. I looked at another home. And in the waiting I discovered that picking up and moving on was exactly the right move

I called my realtor and asked if I could see the house again. Stepping back inside just truly sealed the deal. I could see myself and the kids here. I could see myself healing here. It just made sense, even though making such a huge decision alone was so scary.

I decided to make an offer and found out that there was another offer that had come in just a few hours before mine. I was devastated. I felt like this had confirmed my fears of it not being “right” for me. My realtor (I adore her so much) assured me that putting in a backup offer rarely works out but that I should do it anyway. It was only a few days later that I found out that the contract with the first offer had fallen through and that I GOT THE HOUSE! This event, and several others, confirmed for me that this home was meant for me.

I moved in right after Christmas. It was a mix of many emotions. I could hardly feel excited about it until we were here for a few weeks. The circumstances around this entire move were incredibly challenging. I did not get a chance to really say goodbye to the old house that I had worked so hard on. The house that helped me build this beautiful life I’m so grateful for. The house I brought babies home in. The house that gave me an outlet to deal with many hardships. The home that was my Nanna’s and was my Mom’s legacy to me.

I have a lot of healing to do. I truly can’t wait to do it here with my babies. And I’m not sure that I will share more about the challenges that I have faced all these years that lead to this…but I’m more than grateful for the support I have in my family/friends/church and for the support I have in you guys.

I love you guys and can’t wait to take you along for this new journey!

Like many others, I feel sad that you won’t be in that house that you worked so hard on, but we will always have your Instagram to look back on it fondly! I just keep thinking about amazing things you did to that last house like the playroom, the murphy bed, the built-in office area, the shed, the playhouse, the kids rooms, and of course, the stunning kitchen (that oven!). I’m sure it was extremely hard to leave all that hard work behind, but there’s no doubt that this new home will be even better! I cannot wait to see you transform it. Eeek! I understand the desire for privacy and the many challenges life throws our way. I took was married, went through a divorce, grieved and had to start again. Since I’ve gone through it once, not that Im turning 60 this year I’ll be going through another huge change, the beginning of a new 12 year cycle.

You have done very well. Living, learning, being a mom, sharing yourself and some of your talents with us, your friends online. You are wonderful! Every mistake, heartache, triumph and dream you fulfilled are all making you into the person you are today. No regrets needed. Every decision made you a stronger, wiser, woman. You deserve happiness, independence and success. The more you love yourself, the more we love you too! If your husband couldn’t see that, support that or cheer you on, the less he loved himself. And that is NEVER your fault or responsibility.

Lots of love to you Cass!!

I’m still learning. And yes, I learn from everyone I meet. Thank you for sharing your insights, talents, and your love with me, with us, with everyone.
