Full Kitchen Reveal!

I am literally in disbelief that this is the same kitchen…and that I DID THAT! I learned so much during this kitchen renovation and ran into some obstacles, but it’s done and I’m actually so proud. TIME FOR THE FULL KITCHEN REVEAL!

One of you actually pointed out that it was EXACTLY 6 years ago that I revealed (my very first Instagram reveal 🥹) the kitchen! WHAT THE HECK! This wasn’t planned but feels like it was meant to happen this way. I can’t believe how far it has come.

This was my kitchen before I even touched it 6 years ago and then what it looked like after my $500 renovation.

Let’s recap!

Kitchen Peninsula

I started this whole project by demoing our kitchen peninsula. It totally cut the room in half and just wasn’t functional. I cut it down and had some new, deeper counter tops installed with a little bar top area as well as some added storage.

DIY Range Hood

Next, I did something I’ve never done before! I built a range hood! I wanted to remove our microwave and make a luxurious vent and range hood instead. New skill acquired!

Backsplash Makeover

Then, I did a little backsplash makeover. I wanted a creamy, brick look. So I installed some textured bricks and lime washed them so they’d be a nice creamy white.

Cabinet Conversion

I had a (genius) idea for converting my builder grade cabinets to inset cabinets without having to get fully new ones. I added trim to all of my cabinet boxes and swapped out the hinges for inset hinges and it WORKED!

I added new hardware and lighting everywhere I could. Here’s all the hardware I put in the kitchen:

Appliance Garage & Coffee Hutch

Since most of the kitchen is white, I wanted to add some character. I built an appliance garage for our microwave and other small appliances as well as a hutch for our coffee bar. I stained both of these a dark, deep color and it looks perfect. The appliance garage door almost broke my brain. But I pushed through and it totally worked!

It was honestly so much fun to organize this space. I got so many great things off of Amazon to help keep our kitchen clean and organized. Here’s what I got!

Appliances

I had to hide my appliances from you for sooooo long which I hated doing but it was SO WORTH IT! I was asked to do Big Chill’s 2025 Spring Edit & it was so much fun! I got to curate some amazing colors and I got to put some in my own kitchen! I have the 30″ Classic Gas Range in Olive Yellow (from my collection) and the 36″ Classic Fridge in Oyster White (also from my collection). Both have the brushed brass trim option! These colors will be available to order on the Big Chill site (AHHH, PINCH ME!) along with three other colors that I curated for this Spring Edit.

Here are all of the appliances I put in our kitchen:

Furniture

We got some amazing furniture for this space too. The cabinet doors are from Nieu 🫶🏻 & how amazing are these barstools?!

This kitchen renovation was no joke, but was totally worth it. I always say every space I finish is my favorite. I like actually mean it this time. This kitchen is literally so beautiful and just so much more functional for our family. THANK YOU for following along and for your patience. You make my dreams come true 💕

Cass you did an excellent job turning a builder grade kitchen into a high end luxury kitchen. Love everything you did and all the accessories. I’d love more detail on how you switched your cabinets to the inset style. Such a terrific upgrade. How did you add the trim? Thanks for the inspiration!

Hi Susan!! Thank you so much. I’m so happy with how they turned out!

I actually have a blog post on the cabinet conversion. Check it out by clicking here!
