One Room Challenge Main Bathroom Week 8 – REVEAL

If you’re new here…Hi! I’m Cass! Welcome to the One Room Challenge!

I’m a mom, wife, and fearless DIY’er. I live in Eastern Virginia with my little family. I’ve been passionate about the idea of homemaking since I was a young girl. I started trying to make our house a home when my husband, David, and I bought our first house. This started with painting and small home decor crafts.

My visions started becoming bigger but our budget was still small. Once my husband began leaving home on long deployments, I realized that if I wanted to make those bigger projects happen, I would have to just do it myself. I then began, little by little, trying out new things and teaching myself to use new tools. Now, in our third home together, I have learned how to tackle MUCH larger projects. Making my home with my own two hands has become my PASSION! I love taking my big ideas and making them come to life and I hope to inspire others to do the same!

YOU GUYS!

I think that this bathroom is the most special space that I have ever created. I am obsessed, emotional, tired, and THRILLED. And in a bit of disbelief that I made this happen with my own two hands…WHAT?!? I know that I make things with my hands all of the time…but this. THIS. I dreamed up this little vision of what my perfect bathroom would be and straight up made it come to life with my OWN TWO HANDS. I’m not crying, you’re crying 😭

I am so incredibly grateful for Linda Weinstein and to my amazing sponsors that have made this opportunity happen for me! And I am thankful for my followers for being the most supportive and encouraging community. Without you, I would have never been able to have such an amazing opportunity!

Unfortunately, my shower glass did not make it in time, but I will be installing that soon! There will be a glass shower door and window.

The arch…

This space completely changed when I shortened the length of this wall separating the shower and tub and added this little peekaboo arch window to let some natural light into the once dark and sad shower. It was the most perfect solution to bringing light in while giving the space some special character. This Zellige Tile from Riad Tile (in Natural White) give so much warmth and texture in this space! I love how it feels so “old world” and special!

Countertop

I am also SO in love with this Calacatta Quartzite from Best Brazilian Granite. The way that the stone waterfalls down to the floor in the tub alcove makes my heart sing! This was such a special touch for the space.

Fixtures

All of these beautiful brass fixtures are from Build with Ferguson, from the Moen Colinet Collection (in Bushed Gold). I could not imagine any other fixtures in this space! In addition, I chose these beautifully sleek Kohler sinks (in Dune) and this stunning Kohler Memoirs Toilet, which feels like it was made for this bathroom.

Vanity Dresser

During week 7, I transformed this vintage dresser (which I found for $75 at a thrift store) into the vanity of my dreams. You can read about that here! I used some base cap moulding (the same kind that I use for all of my box paneling) to frame out the mirrors for a special touch. My mirrors are flanked by these beautiful Mitzi Merri Sconces! I love that these offer a soft and delicate touch above the bold and dark vanity.

This beautiful and sleek pocket door hardware by Emtek fits perfectly on the pocket door that I installed during my first week of this renovation. And THAT RUG! I knew that I wanted  a pop of red/pink in this space when my vision first came together. My friend Nicole, from Bente Vintage Rugs went on the hunt and sourced this for me. It is absolutely perfect in here!

And the last touch that I added to this space, which might be my favorite view of the bathroom. My twin sister Kelsey Lane (Copeland Studio), painted this beautiful and organic piece on canvas for me. Those raw edges just kill me in the best way. It perfectly balances the whole space. And it is SO special…just like this space 🥰

  8. Ok, I’m a pro builder of many years. I can’t believe the detailing and quality you did. It’s just impressive. The box frame for the arches. You did schluter behind the tile. Above all the design is great. I don’t think I could do a better job. My hats off to you for encouraging many others and doing things with quality in mind.

  9. This turned out so great! What are the dimensions of the bathroom if you don’t mind me asking? Thanks! xo

  10. Hi Cass! I still think about this awesome bathroom makeover you did. Can I ask you what the approx dimensions of your room are? I’m brainstorming bathroom layouts for an upcoming remodel and it would be so helpful to have a reference of the size of your room as I design it! 🙂 Thanks so much!!
