August is here so I’ve been working on a Nursery Makeover!! We did some moving around in the house to prepare for the new baby. August is going in Emery’s old bedroom. Last you heard from me, I had finished up the crown moulding and picture railing. You can see that process here. Now it’s time for paint!
Here’s the mood board I started this project with:
And here is where the room started:
Materials to Paint
- Spackling
- Sanding Sponge
- Adjustable Paint Pole
- Paint Roller Replacements
- Paint Roller
- Paint Brush
- Green Painter’s Tape
- Drop Cloth
- Paint Tray
- Step Ladder
Prep
I filled in all the nail holes with spackling. Then, I used a sanding sponge to prep for paint!
Next, I taped the room to protect the white walls, mural, smoke detector, and fan! I also put a drop cloth on all the furniture in here since I didn’t move it out.
The Walls
I made a last minute decision to paint the walls. The white in here was a very cool white and I wanted it to match the rest of my house, which is Swiss Coffee by Behr. This is more of a creamy white.
Choosing a Paint Color
I had a hard time choosing paint for the ceiling. The original color I picked felt like it might be too dark. I stuck these samples to the wall to see what they’d look like. Here were my choices.
I chose the paint color Inchyra Blue by Farrow & Ball. I ended up asking the people at the paint counter to color match in Behr paint.
Time to paint!
I already love this color SO much as you can see!
I can’t wait to show you the entire ceiling. It looks AMAZING. Next thing I need for this Nursery Makeover is a dresser! I don’t want to spend a ton of money so I’m looking for one second hand. I’ll keep you posted!
